Arboretum!

We had a lovely visit to the Arboretum. Check out these cool photos of the Highgrove Florilegium! John actually got to place the order and process this incredible book by way of his work at the library!! How cool is that??? This book was nothing short of amazing to behold. He had told me about it as it was happening, but I didn't really process what a big deal it was until I actually saw this thing (and its $10,000 price tag!) We took tons of photos of the pretty flowers and even some of a teensy tiny little green tree frog in the petals of a pink flower that someone spotted! So cute!!
The incredible Highgrove Florilegium, and below, John standing with Prince Charles ;)
A snapshot of how the book is handcrafted. I felt weird taking photos of too much stuff, with copyright laws and all, but all of the illustrations in the book were delicate and beautiful.
Here are some photos we took along our hike through the Arboretum.

Wild turkeys on the loose!
Flax flower
I just love water lilies
And fungi!
A type of Borage, a plant that I'd love to use in the brewing of Anglo-Saxon Ale

Lookie who we spied making a web in the leaf!

Ducks on the pond
And turkeys in the gardens

Bees loving the chive flowers

The teeniest little green tree frog, nestled into these gorgeous pink petals! How adorable :)
