We're Leaving!

We're up and getting ready to go. I'm trying to pry myself out of this sleepy haze so I'm blogging and having an iced coffee with vanilla soy milk with the Food Network on in the background. John, aka Mr. Energy, has beat me into the shower and is raring to go. We're going to have breakfast somewhere downtown and then hop the LRT to the airport to fetch our rental car. We should be getting a Corolla, we hope, or something similar. It's sure to have more performance capabilities than our poor little Saturn that seems so sluggish on the uptake. I have waves of nervousness as I don't care much for fast moving vehicles and certainly not for the morons that operate them (except us, because our driving is perfect). I might see if I can take the first shift since I can find comfort in familiarity. I dread thinking of what new and busier cities hold, traffic and road condition-wise, but at least we're not going to LA. I wouldn't last 6 seconds on the 405.

Well, I'd better get off my skanky ass and get in the shower! Time to roll!!!!!!!!!!
See ya'll on the flip side :)

Hey R and J!!! Hope your road trip is going well so far!!! Are you out of our home state yet??? I look forward to living vicariously through your blog as I haven't traveled in many many moons! Perhaps one week next year, you will be reading my travel blog! Until then, I can only live in envy of your nomadic selves and post comments as Fi allows! Much love, ~ "Luminitsa"

Thanks for reading and commenting :) We are having a blast so far and are already planning our next trip! I'm still trying to talk John into getting the Airstream, quitting our jobs and selling homemade jams roadside as we travel cross-country, but Boo just wouldn't have it! My other idea is to move to Hawaii and be beach bums....buuuut, the comforts of home, like having a toilet and running water, are just too damn important to us. Mostly to me :)
Love to you all--R & J!
