We spent almost the whole of Sunday traveling from Edinburgh to Inverness, which is nothing special to speak of, but once in Inverness we had the most romantic, lovely walk along the river Ness. I have never seen Cedar trees as massive, healthy and ancient as the ones here. There is one famous Cedar tree back in Minnesota that is said to be around four thousand years old, sacred to the Anishnaabe people that I would like to visit and pay tribute to someday soon, but it requires special permission to visit. The cedars here, as you will see in the photos, are immense and their leaves are lush and look almost like pines from a distance. There were also huge yew trees with gorgeous gnarled trunks, and a lovely red berried plant that I wasn’t sure about, and what I think is wild growing holly!
